Abstract:
Powder River Basin boundary based on generalized contact between cretaceous and Tertiary bedrocks.
The portion of the basin located in Wyoming was created from the Wyoming State Geological Survey 100,000 scale PRB geologic dataset. The portion of the basin located in Montana was created from the USGS "prbbndg.shp (Powder River Basin Boundary)" Shapefile. (Central Region Energy Resources Team, Denver, CO, US Geological Survey Professional Paper: 1625-A, 1990).
Purpose: This feature class was created to define the project boundary.
