Wyoming State GIS Coordination Development Plan 2004

The Wyoming State GIS Coordination Development Plan (WSGCD Plan) is a developmental plan by Wyoming geospatial data users involving private, local, state, and federal government cooperation. This plan is to provide direction for the state from geospatial managers and users along with administrative guidance. It is a working document to provide coordination and save taxpayers and agencies money.

The WSGCD Plan is being developed due to the growing need throughout the state at all levels. This was reinforced by the 2003 WGIAC Survey which the GIS community states the need for state GIS coordination. Additionally the WGIAC Executives determined GIS coordination to be the primary challenge that needs to be addressed by WGIAC. Furthermore the need for coordination was reinforced by the recommendation from the State CIO, Larry Biggio. He stated a need for the development of a GIS coordination plan that can be recommended for the State.

Thus the following development is a plan for GIS coordination. It is presently being developed and requires user community input. This is a working document and process thus this site will change as updates are made.
