WSGS Invited to GSA Annual Meeting in Portland
WSGS geologists Scott Quillinan and Fred McLaughlin will present their latest research activities at the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon. Both will give oral presentations on October 20 as part of technical session number 215, Frontiers in Coal Science: From Basic Research to Applied Technology. Quillinan will present his research, titled Carbon isotope technique for coalbed aquifer characterization, at 3:50 (see abstract). McLaughlin will discuss Isotopic analysis of aquifer systems, Atlantic Rim, Carbon County, Wyoming: A new tool for characterizing coalbed natural gas systems at 3:35 (see abstract). McLaughlin will also present a poster on October 19 titled The Wyoming State Geological Survey Geologic Mapping as part of technical session number 101: Geologic Maps, Digital Geologic Maps, Geophysical Maps, and Derivatives from Geologic Maps (see abstract).
