The Wyoming State Geological Survey’s (WSGS) education program is intended to promote public awareness of Wyoming’s geologic, mineral and energy resources. Wyoming’s coal resources are vital to the state and providing people with knowledge – from students to decision makers – allows the state to better understand, appreciate and manage this public resource in the future.
Our educational programs include regularly updated website content, interactive maps and figures, summary reports and presentations. The WSGS is also working to develop curriculum on the state’s coal energy source and mining efforts for middle and high school students. The agency is also working to develop videos and other multimedia for the public to gain a better understanding of Wyoming coal and the state’s mining efforts.
